DEICIDE: Spanish Shows Cancelled
January 11, 2007Matarile, the agency in charge of organizing the Spanish leg of the current DEICIDE European tour, has decided to pull the plug on the shows due to the absence from the tour of the group's bassist/vocalist Glen Benton.
As previously reported, Seth van Loo (SEVERE TORTURE, NOX, CENTURION) handled the vocal duties for the first four dates of DEICIDE's European tour. Beginning with this past Tuesday night's (January 9) concert in Manchester, England, Garbaty "Yaha" from the Polish death metal band DISSENTER joined DEICIDE on bass/vocals and is scheduled to perform all shows until Benton is able to rejoin the trek.
Blanca Vidal from Matarile has released the following official statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"Last Monday January 8th, Massive Music, the agency in charge of DEICIDE European tour, informed us that the tour was begun January 5th in Eindhoven (Holland) without Glen Benton in the lineup and with a occasional substitute, requesting us for some days of delay while they waited for Glen Benton's confirmation of that he was following the tour. Up to the date, we don't have the confirmation of the agency guaranteeing us the presence of Glen Benton in the concerts programmed in Spain, nor even when is he going to join the tour. Because of this, Matarile, company of the Spanish tour, regrets to report the decision of cancelling these shows to avoid that part of the Spanish fans could feel disappointed and deceived. The tickets bought for these concerts will be given back in the same places where they were bought."
The affected dates are as follows:
Jan. 15 - Bilbao, SPA @ Bilborock
Jan. 17 - Madrid, SPA @ Caracol
Jan. 18 - Barcelona, SPA @ Razzmatazz II
